We were surprised but extremely thankful to hear from the team this evening. Apparently they needed to venture out of the Village of Boucan La Marre to find a cell signal. The team is scheduled to travel to the fishing village of Point Sable but their motor boat driver has fallen ill and is unable to take them so they are trying to communicate with Point Sable’s village “mother”, Madame Sigga, to try and work out new travel arrangements. Please keep this in your prayers, as the team is scheduled to leave at 7:30 a.m.
Today, the team spent the day touring the church/campus grounds in the village of Boucan La Marre. It is absolutely amazing to see how far the Lord has brought our little campus over the years. When we first began traveling to LaGonave our teams slept in tents and used outhouses. Now we have three housing structures: Pastor Pierre and Madame Carmelle’s house, a house for male missionaries, and a house for female missionaries. The houses have limited “running” water (supplied by the village well) to shower and flush the indoor toilets. Pastor Pierre’s house even has an indoor kitchen with a real stove!
The team also used today to begin preparations for the Women’s Conference we will be hosting on Friday and Saturday. 40 women are registered to attend and we are so excited to see how God works through this event!
As always, thank you for your interest, prayers and support. Please continue to check back as we are excited to continue sharing with you, all that God is doing during this trip!
