The team enjoyed their time in the fishing village of Point Sable. It was a “long and tiring trip but VERY productive.” The people were so excited to see them and the feeling was beyond mutual. When they arrived they got a chance to visit with the school children and their teachers, then it was time to get ready for church service. Christopher, Bill and Alfonso all spoke at the evening church service. Christopher spoke briefly from Matthew 5 to encourage to body that they were a light to the dark world. This message was very appropriate as this was the congregations first time worshipping in the new church building and because the Village of Point Sable has no electricity the evening service was completely dark with the exceptions of the small lanterns the team brought. Bill spoke from Hebrews 12 to admonish the body to lay aside whatever sin distracts them from being a light to the world. Fornication, adultery or lying/stealing, whatever it may be, they must let it go to be in the Kingdom of God. Alfonso spoke the longest (but short for him, about 40 minutes) from Philippians Chapter 1 and 2. His message was titled “Be Like Jesus” and focused on the Lord speaking about the importance of working with God’s Holy Spirit as He humbles us to submit to obey God’s Word and have the same mind as Christ, considering others above Himself. It was a “very powerful night”.
After spending the night in Point Sable, the team headed back to Anse a Galets. Three women who will be attending the Women’s Conference in Boucan La Marre traveled back on the boat with them.
Once back in Anse a Galets the team had to get the axle repaired on the truck before they could head back up the mountain to Boucan La Marre (something broke while they were headed down the mountain yesterday morning). Thankfully they were able to get it taken care of at the service center of "Toyota of Anse a Galets" J and head back up the mountain before it got too late.
Please pray for our Women's Conference which begins tomorrow!
